Sisters Island Lighthouse Trip
The Sisters Lighthouse has a very long and interesting history, this limestone lighthouse goes back to the 1870’s. This trip will be hands down, one of the prettiest paddle adventures we will do this summer. The Sisters lighthouse is Kingston/Rideau canal limestone beautiful, set in a very scenic part of the 1000 Islands. We know we will get some very picturesque photo’s. Can’t wait.
Our paddle plan starts us at the Public Boat ramp on Front Street, Rockport which is off 1000 Islands Parkway. From our launch /start point we will paddle the 2.1 kms around the west end of Tar Island, pass Little Grenadier then east for about 5.2 kms along Grenadier Island to the Sisters. On completion of taking our token photo’s and maybe a tour, we will continue east 2.8 kms to the most easterly end Grenadier Island. Paddling between Grenadier and Adelaide Island we will take a north east tack, paddling about 3km to St Lawrence Islands National Park Visitors Center, located on the 1000 Islands Parkway, where we will pull out. This is also a great spot to have our lunch, change and enjoy the views.
If you wish to paddle with us drop us a line, e-mail or message us on the Blog or Facebook. We hope to pull out of our drive at 0700hrs.
